It’s a fuzzy limit…180k-200k, but under 150k is better, and under 130k is safer still. If you’re hosting with Flickr and using one of their resized versions, it likely has file size bloat because they use very high quality compression to create those smaller sizes. It’s not like I have awesome photos but I’d like to be able to participate. Seems like there are plenty of folks using flickr who aren’t having this problem.

Again, I really like the Farktography contests, it is one of the reasons I now have a good camera and it has given me an excuse/reason to go wandering on weekend mornings.

I didn’t change anything on any of my photos. I find that comment a little weird. What would cause this? I checked flickr and the image is still there, unchanged.

I fell out for a while. Mostly because I take crappy pictures but farktography was probably the main reason I decided to pay for TotalFark back in 2004 or 2005 so I figured I should get back to it.

Also, I can’t help but notice the last couple of contests haven’t brought in a lot of votes in general, not just for my lame efforts.

Really, autofocus+macro=years off your life. 😉

I have no choice. I dropped my macro lens and now the switch for auto/manual focus is broken. Woe is me.

I’m having trouble cropping my pictures- when I click the crop button and try to select part of the image, there’s just a little grabby hand which doesn’t do anything instead of the pointer and crop symbol that usually shows up. Anyone know what might be the problem?

Forgive my ignorance, but what does that have to do with aperture help?
