I’d say cars are ok, cause they’re of a pretty substantial size, but I wouldn’t want to say just any object and get a bunch of pictures of just random trash. A picture of an abandoned car can set the tone of an abandoned place, though.

Are log rafts considered toys?

I guess I define a boat as a floating craft that can carry people and be navigated from point A to point B but I rule out rubber rafts and swimming pool toys and anything else a person cannot ride on. So a substantial log raft should count as a BOAT

This has been the thing that has got to me in a lot of contests as I generally do a few extra ideas incase one or two doesn’t turn out as planned. I also forget about photos that I could use until after I have entered mine and seen someone elses image which reminded me of them (like tulips this week).

what staplermofo said about the tripod and general difficulty applies to any true macro shots. the DOF is really shallow and focus(ing) is a pain.

I know about the depth of field problems for sure it took me about 10 shots to get the one of the key on the Treasury seal. 🙂

You might want to consider a lens reverser and a cheap, used 50mm full manual lens. Having the most sensitive to damage part of your lens inches from what you’re shooting is really nerve wracking, what with the weight of two lenses, and the constant frobbing of every knob on your tripod to get the 1/100″ closer so you can even make out what…

Odd, what software are you using to do the resizing? Most packages are exif-aware and should preserve that information.

Description: Photos should have a dominant red theme. Difficulty: No blood.

Should addition be made to dificulty that no red filters applied in camera or in post. This could be done following the other guidelines because done to entire photo.
