<p>I too have extension tubes as well as +1, 2 ,4, &amp; 10 diopter filters.</p>
<p>I like the tubes for when I have plenty of time to prepare everything and take lots of pics and adjust things just so. I usually go with the 50/1.4 in front of the extenders.</p>

I just priced out IronCad and it&#8217;s $4k.  Currently I&#8217;m using ViaCAD because it&#8217;s about $80 (and I haven&#8217;t crashed it yet).</p>

It does miss the instantaneous gratification.  Shapeways has very good fine detail.  (I was able to print usable M58x0.75 threads.)
