Well I took the theme name from the Flickr blog entry where my example came from. A mosaic is simply interlocking tiles, which is what this is. You don’t have to have a grid, you can arrange the images in any way you see fit.

I was able to make a CD size close-up photo of face work pretty well.

Yah, 2/3 of my ideas are closeups of faces using CDs. I found most head shots on albums were too big, whereas the CDs you can just move them closer or farther from the camera to get the proportions and perspective to match up.

Just to make sure that my ideas are OK according to the rules:
– can I use the back cover of an album or is the front of the sleeve mandatory, and
– is the use of a picture disc acceptable as oftentimes there was/is just a see-through plastic sleeve accompanying the disc?
