How about rust that is not on its parent bit of metal?

I guess I’m OK with that as long as it is obviously rust as defined in the wikipedia paragraph and no one else has an issue with it. My original intent was for rusty objects but I like people who think creatively and employ constructive rule breaking.

An early bee – I caught rust in bed! It wasn’t very photogenic though and there was part of a deer carcass next to it so I didn’t want to hang around long.

B-sides start here (to end of album): https://picasaweb.google.com/102637182371352471338/FarktographyB_sides#5748463155594722498 I may use one of the two rusty yard art photos for Carnival of Animals (or may try to reshoot those, didn’t care for how they came out even after extensive Lightroom work).

After looking back at my entries, I should have entitled my first Three Rusty Nuts 😆

rav, almost used my water pump shot, but couldn’t recall if any non-farktography edits had been made (I know I played with some the saturation), glad I opted not to after seeing yours.

Actually looks like I got all new shots this week myself, actually my second shot was taken this afternoon, the others within the last 3 weeks. Had a few from the archive in the B-sides (including the above mentioned water pump)

I spent a bunch of time recently on other photo stuff and haven’t spent as much mental energy on farktography as I usually do. It is time to go play with the family but I might get an epiphany for a photo selection and ask Els to pull one of my three. 🙂 That said, I have no idea what the rusty INSURANCE barn is made out of. If you all think it is tin and not ferrous I’ll be happy to pull it and select something else.

This one’s a rarity for me – all 3 are new shots taken just for this contest. I sure do enjoy that; wish I had time to do it more often.

Sneak preview of my A’s here, and several Bees here.

I’d think since the rust is orange, it should count, right? I mean, I’m not going to go pop over to the barn and do a chemical analysis of the sheet metal on the roof. It it looks like rust and quacks like rust….

I think tin rusts fairly conventionally, U-Man (elsewise, I’ll need to pull my rusty can and replace it with something in the morning.) I almost posted the one of the Tin Roof, Rusted (didn’t have the heart to go there, though).

(though the wiki tells me tin cans are made mostly of steel)

“Tin” in the case of cans and roofs generally means tin or zinc coated steel (iron in really old examples). Once the coating is compromised, the underlying steel does the actual rusting…

    Thanks for the input.

After some pondering and polling of family members, I have decided that I would like to remove my INSURANCE barn shot. I have posted an old abandoned car already. Elsinore, can you please delete the barn?

/the car shot is a different frame than a prior entry
//I looked up ‘different than’ vs. ‘different from’ and decided to ignore the rules because ‘different from’ sounds odd.

One bee that I would have liked to have been a primary. Sharing here because my stereo shots tend to tank in voting.

I took all of my entries last night. The old farm implements are in a local park that is most famous for being a great place to photograph birds, but I spend a lot of time there and found these in a back section. I have photo of them from last January as well, but I like the recent ones better.
    B’s:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and I forgot about this rust colored building. The building doesn’t quite fit the theme and isn’t from last night, but I like it. Mopsy might recognize it, since it’s in da U.P.
