ParticipantElsinore, all three of gorrck‘s entries this week are repeats from the Abandon All Hope 2: Life After People contest. Evidently flickr has changed their domain names from “static.flickr.com” to “staticflickr.com” (i.e., staticflickr is now its own domain instead of static being a subdomain of flickr). I’ll have to modify the Scarlet R algorithm to check for that. As an example, here are the links from one of the repeated entries:

KeymasterOh crap, thanks for double checking that! I’d thought one looked familiar, but hadn’t had a chance to look into it.

ParticipantActually had a thought on some b&w photos “I wish we’d banned b&w this week because I’d love to see what this looked like in color”

ParticipantYeah, the whole point of rust is the color, right? Well, maybe the texture, too, but the color is important! 😉
My picture that’s doing best this week gave me SOOOOO much trouble! I’m glad it’s doing well. For some reason I had trouble getting it under 250K. Ordinarily not a problem, not sure why it was this time. Anyway, I guess I’m glad I stuck with it! 😉

ParticipantRav – thank you for properly using the idea of thirst. Those dos equis commercials actually make me sick.

ParticipantI think the B&W fits some images well and some not as well. I entered one in sepia because I tried it in B&W first but it didn’t look good. Here is the color version for comparison.
I really like Mopsy’s nuts and Ennuipoet’s squeaky wheel. I tried to capture intricate inner workings like that but mine just looked too busy, yours has good framing that works like a windows to peer inside.

Thanks, mine was actually very cropped to get that perspective, I couldn’t get close enough to the object to frame it otherwise. (It’s twenty feet out in the Hudson.)

Well, thank you. I tend to like close in shots like the “Nuts”. Some times it works, some times it doesn’t. Thank you again! Clarification: It always works for me, but the voters don’t always agree!!!!

LOL! That’s why I said I should have gone back and retitled it “Rusty Nuts,” knowing this Fark Crew would have found that funny. 😆
