ParticipantAnd it’s stellar. Some super nice shots of the new bridge across the Hoover Dam being constructed, and some of Barry Goldwater’s shots, PLUS they have introduced their contest for the 2011 issue.
If you have a chance, do pick it up.
The contest difficulty factors are the shots MUST be taken in Arizona, and they must fit one of four categories: People/Culture, Landscape, Wildlife, and Macro.
Great–another contest! (But this years would make U-Man, and everyone else, envious of their skills–there’s a Sandfall in Antelope Canyon that’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen.)
If you happen to live in Arizona {coughcaradoccough} and have, say, some nice landscape photos {coughlightningoverWeaver’sNeedlecough}, you might give it a go. I know I’ll see what I can get.

ParticipantIt’s a family magazine. And by family, I don’t mean gay.
But that is a so totally most awesome shot, I’m complaining to the editors!!

ParticipantI hadn’t gotten the Weaver’s Needle shot at the time the contest opened.
First photo, second row from the bottom – the orange sunset lightning strike.

Dang. I’m kinda thinking of doing this one from macrobugs:

I don’t like the interloping leaf, but I do love the spider. But I have other bug shots I’m considering, and I keep getting better, so I’m holding off for the moment. I plan on waiting till at least December, just so I don’t take something the day after I submit and regret having submitted something the day before.

ParticipantThat’s a good plan. I think I would rather have the Weaver’s Needle shot up there instead. Ah, well.
