You could make leaves like these.
Then stay put, because it’s hard and I could use your advice.//I can’t believe I watched the whole thing. 🙄

May 3, 2012 at 12:25 am #46172BarracudaParticipantPhotos posted, back up finished, the old box is getting shut down, gutted and a new heart (and lungs and just about everything else) being put in tonight. Win7, a return to Intel CPU’s, and my first SSD disk on the horizon.
Oh, and a B-side: https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-rd-9KwCwGsc/T6HA9uO9e1I/AAAAAAAAGpo/-uRiZ8eoxmA/s800/IMG_2208-3.jpg
Fence in the back yard, taken with the Nikon 300mm adapted to the XSi, I think that’s the SOOC version, I may have touched up the contrast and clarity slightly. Was backed up to the far side of the driveway with that lens on the camera, mostly testing sharpness, etc.
May 3, 2012 at 1:21 am #46173hunchesParticipantA couple bees:
Some shelves I built in my garage: http://www.flickr.com/photos/76727975@N05/6991269330/
Funny cacti on someone’s lawn (maybe NSFW in some bizarre world): http://www.flickr.com/photos/76727975@N05/6991268132/
This was in someone’s front yard that I used to walk my dog past all the time in my old neighborhood – I liked to imagine a jerk homeowner upset a landscaper one too many times. Also a random question, not sure where to ask. Is it legal to take a color photo and make it black and white on the computer before submitting?
May 3, 2012 at 1:29 am #46174U-ManParticipantHey Elsinore, would you please deletionate my old black and white cabin post 09:25:39? I have used that cabin (not that frame) before and, while it might do OK, I’m in the mood to post something more original. Thanks in advance.
May 3, 2012 at 1:37 am #46175U-ManParticipantHeh. And then I still went back to an old one. I guess I’m not very decisive a noche.

Yep that’s fine. Generally image corrections that affect the whole image or correct small blemishes are fine. (Remove a stray hair, red eyes or a pimple. Don’t add Elvis or remove the tree growing out of Grandma’s head. Convert to b&w or bump up vibrance, but don’t mess with saturation to get unrealistic or cartoonish results.)
May 3, 2012 at 3:09 am #46179ElsinoreKeymasterThis ^^. Basically most “standard” post-processing techniques are allowed–b/w conversion, contrast, saturation, vibrance, curves, levels, unsharp mask/sharpen, noise reduction, and yes, even very minor blemish removal. But any of these otherwise legal techniques go too far if your resulting image leaves realism completely behind.
May 3, 2012 at 3:29 am #46180U-ManParticipantAhem. I still feel like you are talking right at me. 😳
May 3, 2012 at 4:19 am #46181ElsinoreKeymasterlol actually I was thinking more of some casual participant folks in the last few weeks who have submitted stuff toeing the line of cartoonish saturation. There were a couple deleted, and some that stayed up, but possibly should have gotten dropped.
