10-03-12 – Stripes

I rarely shoot for a contest the week of the contest. I’m usually out shooting, and something that’s been hoppered (or not, as the case may be) pops into my head based on my subject matter.

This week, however, one of my shots was specifically for this, and a second one was just serendipity on Saturday. I had no idea what that third one was going to be until then.

I have some ideas but no time to do them. I’ll try to come up with three but it’s not looking promising even though I have been shooting for this one, just with poor results. I guess I just need to lighten up (Francis) and try. Too bad I haven’t seen any zebras here in Arkansas this week.

Yeah, I’m finding this a lot more challenging than I anticipated. I had some ideas but needed models for them to work. I went forth for the first time since mid July and got three last Sunday. Yay! I’m making photographs again!

Striped tree trunks. Striped leaves. Striped fields after they’ve been plowed. Skunks. Chipmunks. Tigers. Zebras. Edge views of sedimentary rocks. Lots of stripes in nature.

Muscle cars. Barber poles. Han Solo’s pants.

Think parallel lines, if it’s not too late to take more pics.

Why did I think today was “Time On My Hands”? This is my own theme for goodness sake.

I may be late tonight. I want to catch the midway rides at the county fair for Time On My Hands. I’ll probably hit up the quilt display for this one.
