Participantfluffybunny I am stupid in love with “Little Creatures”. At first I thought it was a photoshop, but as I looked, I could tell that the shadows were too perfect for that. Great concept and photo.
Which ain’t to say that all the other entries aren’t terrific also. This thread is yet another one that brought out the “Awesome” in all y’all.

No shooping here, I knows the rules :D, and thanks for the compliment. I was a little concerned that it wasn’t a “real” forest going in but it seems to be doing reasonably well. I had a lot of fun coming up with the idea and then implementing it. It’s just plastic toys, broccoli, cotton balls and poster board. Loosely inspired by the visual style of Wes Anderson, one of my favorite “moving picture” directors.

ParticipantGiven that I live in a desert, will cacti and sagebrush do? Riparian oasii?

Thanks! (?)
The Mormon Lake plains view used to have water up to the tree line. The story I heard from a resident was that in the 1993 earthquake centered near San Francisco, the tremor broke the lakebed (again; they repaired a smaller fissure some time previous) and the lake drained out. The community up there decided not to pursue repairing it. I can’t find references to back that up, but when I went there as a kid, it was the largest natural lake in Az. It’s a puddle now.

ParticipantThanks! (?)
It was a sincerely meant compliment wrapped in a tongue in cheek insult. 🙂
