Curious introduced Ennuipoet and me to a police/gov’t auction site that he’s bought from before. Not nearly as crowded as the bay, but also not nearly the selection. Seems to be quite random as a whole (antique jade flutes, anyone?). There’s also some annoying regulars that will use one-click bidding 23 times in a row. But I saw something I liked, and with bidding at $12 at the time, I had to give the site a test spin. Hopefully I’ll have a new walkaround in time for the holidays.

I’ve looked at this lens off and on for a while, now. It sells used on ebay for $250-300.

I have one of those. What may not be obvious from the photos is that it’s *enormous* (makes a 17-35 2.8 look small). It’s also oddly light for it’s size, though.
