Fixing AWB for a panoramic
-
Ok, I’ve got both an explanation and a possible solution for you.
The last Canon DSLR added to the SP2 camera raw plugin was the 30D. They added the 40D to one of the early CS3 camera raw updates (and of course the updates aren’t backwards compatible, that would be logical).
The solution (hopefully) is to download the download the standalone Adobe DNG converter which (if it works as advertised) will convert you .CR2 files into the “standard” .DNG files. These DNG’s are supposed to be backwards compatible to at least CS1 – however I have never worked with either the DNG converter or the DNG’s themselves so your mileage will definitely vary.
In addition, I don’t know how much of the “raw” data (white balance, exposure, etc.) is kept or lost when converting to DNG. Let us know if/how it works for you.
Thanks. Obviously, this project is not on my fast-track. But, I’ll try to make it work over the next few days.
