Gorillapods – worth it?

Been thinking of getting one. The Zoom model. Would like to hear from people who had used them. I would using it with a Pentax DSLR and vintage 35mm SLRs. They look like they would be great outdoors.

I have one (the Zoom). It is pretty handy when I don’t want to haul my full-sized tripod around. I have a ballhead that I mount on the top which seems to help with the usability. I’ve mounted a full-frame DSLR on it with a 70-200 zoom. That is pushing the limit of what it is stable with. The body with a 50mm prime is no problem.

It is pretty stable but not as much as its bigger kin. I also use it to put off-camera flash in different places. It is versatile and convenient.
