What is this ‘winter’ you all keep talking about?
Surf Season.
/IRT your other comment, show up early. Like before sunrise if it’s Waimea, or you’ll be parking in downtown Haleiwa and walking up. If the breaks are at sunset or pipeline or one of the others along that strecth, just after sunrise should be fine to be within a respectable distance. Three tables usually has a crappy break, so you can park there and ride a bike to where the breaks are. Also, keep your ears to the radio. Doesn’t matter what else is going on (except maybe a triple crown or world champ event), if Waimea is breaking over 25 feet, everything else gets dropped and the Eddie Aiku Big Wave takes over. Never got to see that, since it’s only every three of four years on average, but I hear that’s THE event to see.
