macro lens purchase advice please

thanks for all the input, y’all. i think i’m going to go with the sigma 50mm. i’ve been playing with a 100mm macro lens (on loan) and while it can take some absolutely fabulous close-up/macro pictures, i actually like the wider angle possibilities of the 50mm. maybe that will mean i’ll end up cropping more often (artistically, not for magnification) but having played at some length with the 100mm and tried some lenses that weren’t macro but didn’t totally suck at close-up and could at least give me an idea of what the angle of view would give me, i think that, for my purposes, talents and tastes, the 50mm is the right lens at this time. not to mention budget lol!

/i hope i’m right. the gods know i’ve dithered on this subject enough! 😀
