Photoshop Elements 6 question
-
I have PS Elements 6 in my laptop & desktop.
When I open RAW files (canon) in the laptop there is no option to save them as jpegs. at all, anywhere. It will only save them as psd files.
It does give me the option of tiff, jpeg2000 and few others.
My desktop however automatically converts them to jpegs by default.
Both were loaded from the same disc. The only difference is the laptop is Vista & the desktop is XP.
Anybody know how to fix this on my laptop or do I need to call tech support?
(didn’t google it yet…figured somebody here may know)
I don’t know if this applies to Elements, but is your color mode RGB? I don’t think you can “save as” a JPEG if it’s indexed color etc. Also, have you tried “save for web”?

As soon as I read this I heard *ding* in my head…
The RAW converter was set default to 16bit. Changed it to 8bit and away we go.
Durr…I shoulda known this
Thanks!
