Question about a used lens
-
I bought a used lens from eBay.
The seller said it was “mint”
When I look at the lens from the front it seems to me that there’s a defect inside the lens. I’m trying to find a way to show you what I see to get your opinion.
Obviously, if there’s something wrong with the lens, I’ll want my money back.
Any idea how to detect the defect? I’ve tried using my macro lens to take a picture but there’s too much glare on the ‘new’ lens.
Any thoughts?
Hmm do you have a polarizing filter you can use to cut the glare?

Indeed. I’ll give it a try.
What’s the defect? Does it show up when you take photos?
Glass can be imperfect, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it will show up in the final image. Imperfections including bubbles in the glass aren’t necessarily a reason to reject a lens.

It looks to me like a dust INSIDE the lens.
dust inside the lens is a frequent topic at photo.net.
