    I know they take neat pictures, but that’s about all.

    Its basically a cheap lens, often made of cheap glass or nice plastic, that adds some distortion and vignetting to the image. Gimp(and Im assuming photoshop) has a holga filter that lets you get the effect from an image taken with a regular lens if you wanted to play around with it.

    It’s a terribly cheap Chinese toy camera that takes professional medium format film. The pictures quality is so bad it’s good.
