    I saw this pic in Flickr’s ‘interesting past 7’. First, I love it. Second, it shows that the fancy bokeh and shallow DoF are not always the way to go. Third, how the hell did he get such wide DoF? Is it from the small Powershot sensor? Is that why Elsinore uses one for her bug Pr0n?

    Pretty much that plus he’s at the wide end of the lens – if you check the exif it was shot at 6mm and wide open at F2.0

    Focal Length 6 mm

    That’s going to have a lot to do with it, in addition to the small sensor. There’s some pretty hardcore calculus equations that go into determining it, but this page breaks it down into plain words pretty well. It also features a DoF calculator to do all the hard work for you.
