KeymasterPhotos with a dominant yellow theme. SFW difficulty should be obvious.

ParticipantI bet everyone is pissed at this theme…
Would pictures with an incorrect white-balance count?

I’m not sure. I guess I’d have to see an example? Really depends on the subject/lighting I guess.

My first attempt at that made this (I just stepped out my office door and took a picture with an incorrect white-balance, I set the custom white-balance on a blue piece of cloth):
flickr page
Edit: removed photo, since it isn’t really “in theme”.Hmm, I just put that idea out without actually testing it. Upon further testing, it doesn’t seem very useful. It is really like a picture taken under very cold lighting, like a camp-fire.
So, I think actually taking a picture of something lit by a camp-fire/candle would be much better.

KeymasterYeah a broad scene like that doesn’t convey as much yellow-ness to me, but a fire/candle would for sure.

Participantnot that I have anything that would fit, but would yellow as in “coward” fit the theme?

Maybe if you took a shirt and painted a yellow streak on it…..

ParticipantA question: Would this be sufficiently yellow for the purposes of this contest?
February 22, 2008 at 6:24 pm #15100Elsinore
KeymasterI think so. That’s pretty yellow. Anyone else have an opinion?
February 22, 2008 at 6:28 pm #15101corsec67
ParticipantThat is pretty yellow to me. Let the voters decide?

I think that would be fair game. However, I think that it would be really difficult to get the voters to get it on a quick look. Perhaps a caption could sell it.

Wow, that is a great example of how cropping can change the feeling of the image.
Personally, I would eliminate the top part of the first image, to get rid of the loading dock, but keep the whole width. Of course that depends on whether you want “yellow object in a field of other-color objects”, or “detail of a yellow spool”
