I got caught up with other stuff and couldn’t focus enough to come up with anything.

You mean ideawise? ‘Cuz I was only quarter-kidding with that stapler orgy thingie. 😥

Anyway, looking at the vote results page, I’m hearin’ the tune in my head: Runaway runaway / Runaway runaway / [can’t remember the words] tomorrow…

If we’re basing it on wins, period, then technically yes, via Encyclopedia Galactica with Staplers and Staples / The Written Word. But never was there such a repeat like what’s going on here — the runaway victory margins with both current contests are incredible. So, I’d say no.

And some of us have already had a sneak peek of what will make it a runaway three-peat next week. Perhaps chaka‘s kept the HTML (if not, he can always view source in that one thread) so he can save Imageshack some hard-drive space…

Not exactly a list of “runaway entries”, but here’s a list of the top-10 entries that captured the biggest percentage of total votes per contest…evar (except for the first three contests (I don’t really trust those stats (I’ve been meaning to do something about that sometime))):

    percent contestid farktographer posting_ts
    7.9675 2345209 chakalakasp 2006-10-11 20:01:17.0

Looks like chakalakasp takes another top-spot. I’ll probably have to deploy this report someday.

Why is this not a “runaway entries” list? I think that a runaway need to stand out from all other entries. By looking at the percentage of total votes, we don’t quite get a single runaway (ref EC‘s and schnee‘s entries (for one example) in the above table – same contestid).

(and farkit on trying to nicely align the farking tables in farking bbCode)

I suggest using margin of victory figures to highlight what you want.

See, as of 5 PM EDT, chakalakasp‘s top entry has more than double the votes of the second-place entry (which, incidently, is the only thing currently preventing someone from going 1-2-3 for the first time ever in a Farktography contest, but that’s another story). Putting that against any other contest, including Geek-o-Sphere, where Kepora_Gebora won, that statistic is unprecedented, as far as I know. Even though chaka had only about an additional .3% of the vote versus Kepora, as of your analysis, the margin of victory over second place for chaka versus Kepora is astounding: 23% for Kepora (37 to 30 votes), and appx. 114% for chaka (62 to 29 votes).

So, margin of victory in terms of both number of votes, and percentages, versus second place vote totals, is fitting for your desires.
