Many apologies if this has been asked before, but how long does a farktography contest officially last? I know that, technically the voting stays open forever, but it seems like 24 hours after the contest hits the mainpage is a long enough period for 99% of votes to be cast? Thoughts? Comments? Rude dismissals?…
i’m pretty sure that is generally when veruca ‘calls it’ – sometime between 10 pm and midnight EST. but with the new fanciness and the automatic trickery, the FSM and (I think) this site update until the contest is archived. i think. maybe.
The FSM strives to scrape every last vote from a contest. I basically will continue to process a thread for 4 weeks and I think Fark archives after 2 or 3.
In my mind, Fark has the last word on the “winner”. farktography.net (ala veruca) calls contests a little bit after 24 hours (as monkeybort said). The FSM doesn’t really have much to do with it.
