I tried both WordPress and Zenfolio and they’re pretty similar. There’s some additional options in WP over Z but Z has a built in way to sell prints and photo products in partnership with mpix in the US and other companies worldwide. You do need a business tax ID to set up for profit prints but you can set up base cost prints without one.

There’s a learning curve to the interface in both WP and Z but Z has a set up tutorial that walks you through it. Creating photo galleries I also found to be easier in Z. The one thing it’s missing from WP is the ability to slurp a blog post from a blog and display it on the site, to keep people interested in what you’re up to. However, since I’m still on my trial account with Z, I know there are additional options that unlock after upgrading the account and that might be one.

Yep fluffybunny that is a great article. I already have my model and property release forms made up and saved and ready to print for when/if I get actual work.
