Driving in this morning, the sky in front of me was foreboding dark grey, but there was a big hole off to the east. This was letting in low angle sunlight that was illuminating all the trees along the sides of the highway. It was a very cool effect, everything up to about 30-40′ high was in bright sunshine, above that it was grey & gloomy. Naturally by the time I dug my camera out of my briefcase (at 80mph no less) the effect was largely gone. You get a hint of it in this shot, but the sunny parts were much sunnier, and the sky much darker at it’s peak.
ever feel like a geek shooting while driving, or just anytime there’s a bunch of people around… hehe.. I often pull over to get a few shots, but again, feel like a total dork doing so.. hehe.. not that I particularly care, but I always try to act liek something is wrong with my car until there’s a break in the traffic. LoL. 😳 😀
