Newbie question about stitched panoramas
-
Hi there,
Apologies if this is a dumb question but a search didn’t turn up a definitive
answer.
I’m a long-time lurker and finally next week’s theme, “let’s vent” matches
up pretty well with an actual decent photograph I’ve taken. The problem
is, it’s a panorama stitched together from several individual photographs
(some of those smokey, venting factories are pretty huge).
While it does seem like it could be considered to be within the letter of the
law, would it be within the spirit of the rules to submit it? The multi-image
proscriptions seem to concern only HDR photos that present a view of the
subject which is qualitatively different from what a human eye would have
seen; while a panorama in this case was just compensation for not having
a wide enough lens (or a panorama camera).
Anyway, I’d like to not fark up on my first attempt, and seek the advice of
the experts.
Thanks!

I’m pretty sure that stitched panoramas are only allowed for special contests, sorry.
Analogy’s right: stitched panoramas fall into the “combining more than one photo” category. We had a stitched panorama theme in the Spring, though, and it was a lot of fun. Wouldn’t be surprised if we did a repeat of it at some point.
