Rule Ruling

I need a ruling on this rule:

You may enter 3 photos in each contest as long as each photo is of a different subject/composition. 

In Doors, my entries were pretty darn similar. Same composition, same tortured child, just a different door. Obviously, I really didn’t have much; I just wanted to represent.

Did I skirt the rule? Exactly what does that rule mean?

if you entered 3 of the same kid in front of the same door, that would have been a violation. you would have been fined $100
