Lighting courtesy of the ceiling fan on our patio.

Kat fired off a quick shot of me with her cellphone just for fun too:

Niiice, olavf. #4’s probably my favorite; the wings are almost invisible except for the veins.

That’s really cool, Olavf. I also like #4-great shot.

Nice, put me down for #4 as well, there is a lovely harmony there!

I spent some time yesterday chasing Monarchs in flight at the park, which is a lot like trying to learn the Octaventral Heebiephone*, a pleasantly futile task.

*Special Nerd Bonus for getting this fairly obscure reference.

Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy is never obscure. My copy is within arms reach right now. lol

Thanks all, I agree #4 is probably my personal favorite too, followed by the second silhouette. I’ve got to say it was pretty weird – I’ve never had one willing to land on me before. Also, shooting hand-held macro at night while standing on a chair is hard

I like 3,2,5,4 in that order the best.

4 would probably be in the second spot but that white blob pulls my attention away, but that is probably my ocd kicking in.

Wish I had a macro lens on hand the one time a giant grasshopper decided to ride on my hand while I was hiking. ’twas trying to chew on my knuckle with its mandibles. Simultaneously fascinating and insanely creepy. So many moving parts.
