How many people already have pictures ready for upcoming themes? I’m a little slow and didn’t check this week’s theme and I’m a little upset at that because I was in the North Carolina/Tennesse mountains and didn’t bring my camera (was more focused on driving the mountain roads instead of taking pictures. I would have brought my camera if I was smart enough to have checked the themes. That being said I already have ideas for the June 28th “The Doors” theme, have a picture for the “Backyard” theme which I kinda got lucky because because I didn’t know about that theme either. I have no idea for the “Shadows” theme, but I got time for that one.

Ever since I started doing Farktography I’ve taught myself to never leave the house without a camera. I don’t usually take the big guns out if I’m just going to the post office, but I have a couple little cheapie Nikon Coolpix point-n-shooters I keep near the door so I can grab it on my way out. More often than not the only things I find worth photographing are Honda Civics with big stupid wings on the trunk, but occasionally find something that I might be able to use here somewhere down the road.

EDIT – FWIW I think I’m set for “backyard” and “doors”… “trash” I’ve got to go through some stuff to see if I have anything appropriate. As for “shadows”, I got nuthin but there’s time to work on that.

i pull a lot of stuff from my archives but i always keep themes in mind when i’m out and about. like saldo said, i usually don’t bring the big boy gear out on a daily basis but i’ve got a canon powershot 550 that goes with me everywhere.

speaking of, i’ve got to go take pictures of my parents’ airstream that is in their yard. 8)

Well my only camera is a nikon d50 unless you count the camera on my Treo 650. 640×480 goodness from that badboy. I guess it would make a nice grainy photo for a voyer theme. 😉 Oh well I still have nothing for tomorrow’s contest and being in Chattanooga, TN there are tons of interesting doorways/entrances to photograph I just need to get off the computer and out in the open air. I’m still happy with my picture taken from my backyard. Too bad I’m a cheapo and I don’t have a Total Fark subscription as my photo will be so far down on the list.

Pics from the 650 (the wife has one) look like they came out of my D100 compared to the pics that come out of my Treo 600.

I take my camera(s) pretty much everywhere I go these days because you just never know what you’re going to find. It’s actually been a bit of a sore spot with my husband a couple of times because he’ll want to go and I’ll still be snapping off photos. But he’s getting used to that and being dragged to the 4 corners of Puget Sound on a whim.

I keep my old Nikon Coolpix 5400 in the car and my “real” camera in the bag in the backseat. Well except for days like today where I just unloaded a bunch of photos and ran out of the house this morning without it. But I have the lenses with me dammit 😛

As for upcoming contests I keep them in the back of my mind and if I see something that fits while I’m out and about then that’s great. Sometimes though, like for the ‘path less taken’ theme I’ll scurry out the night before and just drive around until I find something of interest. But I have a shot or two ready for the ‘backyard’ theme (easy enough) and hope to get some good pictures this weekend for the shadow theme.

Farktography has refined my eye and made me way more proactive when it comes to taking pictures. That and I’ve gotten to meet some pretty swell people too 8)
