I am a volunteer at a couple of non-profit organizations and it’s looking like I may inherit “the web page”. I know we have several web people in our community so I thought this might be a good place to seek advice.

It’s been several years since I looked at CMS tools, site structure and so on. I used primarily Drupal, PHP and CSS on Apache in the past.

I don’t even know what they’re using at this point, it may wind up being “one of those” projects (the spectrum may from simple update all the way to complete re-write).

What does the state of the art look like? What are the best open source or inexpensive tools (small or non-existent non-profit budget).

My goals with my web pages is to make them functional and not bad looking while spending the least amount of time and effort on them. I’ve been using WordPress for the past couple of years and it is very easy once you find a decent template. I have had to edit some of the CSS, but not too much.
