well, this is unexpected…
-
I shot about 50 gig of images over my recent vacation, and as I’ve been digging into the files piecing panoramas together and developing single shots from the raw files, I’ve been posting the “cool ones” to facespace for friends and family to see.
One of my friends dropped a share on a coven of aspiring horror/fantasy writers and I’ve been getting requests to use some of the images as book covers. As expected, I’m pretty flattered, but it puts me in unfamiliar territory as far as how to deal with it. For now, I’m asking for credit only (happy to help out aspiring writers) but if things pick up I owe it to myself to try to make something from my images’ use, don’t you think?
So… consider the suggestion box placed… 🙂
The couple times I’ve been asked for book publication, I responded that I thought $0.05 per copy sold was fair. I never got a response.
Funny, that figure popped into my head as well…
$75 plus cover credit minimum. Flat-rate. More if you think it might actually be published in paper format.
Noted. Some of these will be for print, but I’m going on the assumption that most will be e-book format.
