ParticipantThanks. I tried to balance it out with some temples in TW, some kerks in Amsterdam, churches in UK (lord knows I see enough of those things), but Amsterdam was just way too photogenic. Really loved my visit to that city.

ParticipantLooking at the shots, I’m pretty stunned. However, it’s feeling too religious in that thread. Part of me wants to take a picture of a science book in front of an athiest center (do they make those?) just to balance things out a bit.
There was a link on Fark a while back about someone wanting to build one but I think any bar would fit the bill nicely for most atheists. Or in my case the great outdoors works just as good.

2 of mine we taken within 10 miles of my house, one is less than 1 mile.

Yeah, but you got some awesome shots near your house, so it’s fine. The first one with super-saturated blue sky and low-perspective of the church is amazing. If I tried that at my hometown…well, it’d be pretty damn boring.

My stained glass window is from Northern California from when I lived there and the steeple is a few blocks away and Manhattan Nv is only 50 miles by road or 30 if you can fly bird like. I too wish I could travel the world but will have to make do with what I have for now.

I got lucky, it was the only break in the clouds, the rest of the day was grey and overcast.

The Lutheran Church in Venice, Italy
Astoundingly, my dad and I found the Lutheran Church in Venice. It was the plainest church we found all vacation. It was kind of a relief after all the WOW. However, it’s still a church in Italy – that’s a Titian (the big painting) and a Cranach portrait of Luther (the small one to the right).
Winnowing down to 4, much less 3, was hard this week. Italy’s major cities are STUPID with churches.

The first of my B’s (if that’s the one you’re referring to) was from Breckenridge Colorado. 11,000ft elevation does amazing things for the saturation of the sky.
