ParticipantWell I am screwed for anything low light now especially. As I said yesterday in another thread I busted my only tripod. So all the ideas I had are not nearly as easy to do. Possible maybe but only if I find some luck or some glue and never worry again about where the damn tripod is pointed. lol. I can’t tighten down the tilt part of the head anymore. So either all my shots are oriented as portraits or hand held. Man I should have dealt with this theme when it first popped up.

I got my photo toys–wedge, solar filter, camera body. 😀
I sacrificed a good deal ($$, travel, sleep, appointments) to push this through. I got maybe 7-10 shots of the sun, planets, stars and nebulae (galaxy omitted, meah) that I’ll keep, from an adventure that (dated from first toy arrival) started at 3pm Friday, and has witnessed 5-6 hours sleep.
I froze my ass off. I dropped my brand new camera. (it survived!).
I froze my ass off. People kept driving through in the middle-of-the-phuqing-night- and spoiling my shots.
I froze my ass off. Is it okay that the tip of my left index finger looks a little green?
I froze my ass off. I swear, you could hear a difference in the camera when it took a picture, it was as cold as I.
In between 2-5 (and one 8 )vminute exposures, when I was a huddled mass atop an air mattress, a sleeping bag, and wrapped in a king size double layered denim quilt wrapped upon me like a straight-jacket Snuggie (which explains how some 2 minute exposures got to 5…) yet still feeling confidently certain that my testicles would yet again redescend (G.O.F. 92%), I had a lot of ideas that I wasn’t sure would fit.
Now I know at least two of them can. I’ll PM the mod’s on the other idea.
I’m 50 hours from the start, on 6 hours sleep, and I have things I still need to do. Thank God I’m home, and there’s coffee! Hot, luscious, warm, inviting coffee!….

Even knowing that, the photograph still shows nothing more than some goofy guy having a great time at a pool.
That’s what I was getting at.
I don’t think I can pull it off, but it seems disingenuous not to try.
Well, it’s either that or my huge collection of bottled urine and assorted garbage. Ahh, if only I understood voters. Well, maybe after LaRouche wins this year I’ll finally be vindicated amirite*? Ever since that one dude rapped out why INFRASTRUCTURE is everything awesome about Jackson and Roosevelt did to the beat of Busta’s Break Ya Neck, Lyndon is grossing silver and netting pure gold in 2012 blaggity blaaaaagh!(* not to be confused with Amorites, who are bad news, just ask the Israelites in the old testament, even if Og is a cool name)

ParticipantI may need to archive dive to my old club days of a place called “Propaganda,” “The Dungeon,” or just “the club,” and fire up the scanner. There’s definitely the opportunity to titillate the voters with some of those. This is about a metaphorical darkness, right? I can’t just post a shot of a tan line on my bum, right? (Just kidding, I don’t have tan lines on my bum.)

ParticipantThe ideas I had to incorporate both noir and dark human nature were going to cost me too much time and require modeling resources that I don’t have. I decided to go more with dark human nature. I still may be able to pull off one combined. Not doing too bad as I had originally thought I would be skipping this week.

If there was a human shadow being cast in that blue light out from behind the building, you’d have something great in my opinion. With some tweaks to contrast and such, you could probably up the creepy factor, but to me, I don’t get much in the way of chills in my spine as is.

Agreed, that one is striking!
I’ve had lots of ideas for this one but zero time. Unless I can do something in my hotel room tonight I will have to dig into my very small archive for this one, which probably means I’ll be sitting it out. I like the theme a lot though and should try to do something along these lines for fun in the future.

Pope; it’s been my experience that if it isn’t blatently obvious, farkers won’t get it. Just my viewpoint, though.
