Okay, so I’ve got one pic of an industrious person but now the discussion threat looks like it is leaning more towards industrial buildings. Did SilverStag ever rule on deviating from the buildings to people working? Guess I will bring my camera to work tomorrow and go about town duing lunch in search of an artistic industrial site!

I have one of an industrious person (even includes sawdust). So far it’s only 2 pictures. I’m not sure I have anything for a third. Was thinking of heading to the fish hatchery down the road to see if they’ll let me take a few pictures of what is going on (excluding people because I believe it might be government run and my husband thinks they might not allow pictures to be taken).

Oh wait, I think I have one from a couple of years ago that might work……… It might totally suck though. I’ll have to check it out.

I decided to leave it fairly open: Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, as it were. People in the photos is fine: I just cut off abandoned buildings, to try and focus the photos more on live industry.

I wasn’t able to get to Toyota, but 2 of my entries are actually b-sides from the power poles contest, since I was going to kind of industrial areas for that. (Driving 300 miles in one day helped as well)

Its looking like I may not have access to a computer for posting until thursday night so could I get someone to post these 3 entries for me.

I can, I don’t have any entries of my own this week so it shouldn’t be a problem (suffering a case of shutter-block at the moment!).

It is coming up as private when I try to look at them at the moment and it looks like the first URL has been truncated.

Thanks swampa. These should work better.
This is the html for posting the pics and making it pop(its what flickr wants)

    05 dominos sugar small

    06 smoke stack

    storage tanks sepia small

And if that doesn’t work this should be the url for each of them that hopefully can just be posted in fark.

Those are great pictures. Apparently mine just show industry, not the beauty of it, so I’m going to pass. I do look forward to seeing everyone’s and voting appropriately.

I would encourage you to go ahead and enter them. Voting is almost always unpredictable, and beauty is what you make of it.

    What soosh said…

Never sit out a week because you think your shots suck.

The ones of mine I like least always seem to surprise me.

Elsinore, I have a sort of “spirit of the game” question.

I’m pulling from the archives this week, and one of my considerations is stereographic, which I’ve used before with mediocre results. But, would it be kosher to link to a flash or animated gif to help out people that can’t relax their eyes to look at it properly?

The post in the thread would basically look like this (but with a more industrial nature):

Taken with a Loreo 3D Lens-in-a-cap. (linked to loreo webpage)
View this photo like you would a Magic Eye. Relax your eyes, stare through the image until the two sides merge together.

    /Or click here to cheat.

Hmmm I dunno. I’m kinda too mesmerized by your dog’s red rocket action to think clearly.

Seriously, though, the animation toes the line, though I can’t seem to formulate a concrete argument against it. Anyone else have an opinion on it yay or nay?
