Hey sweet, I have some old band photos from a venue where the lighting was pure red. At the time I thought “Worst. Photo. Lighting. EVAR” but I think it’ll work out now. =D

Should addition be made to dificulty that no red filters applied in camera or in post. This could be done following the other guidelines because done to entire photo.
Something to think about.

but what if you stick a red hoya filter on the front of your lens? it’s not a digital effect and it’s something that film guys used to do as well.

Can anyone tell the difference? Might as well allow post processing filter to entire image. That’s ok by me, I really don’t care just wanted to bring it up before the flood.

i think that’s a stretch….i mean, someone could replicate a lensbaby look using the blur tool, we just take it on faith that no one is going to. if these contests are so important to someone that they’re going to cheat by putting a red filter on in post rather than in front of the actual lens they’ve got bigger problems than the rules of a photo contest.
