Participantwell i have my three and fully agree with soosh about posting those shots that work for you. lord knows that from week to week entries are all over the map. unless the theme is “go outside and shot a picture” there is going to be a lot of interpretations. and even with my hypothetical theme someone is going to take their picture through the window 🙂
September 9, 2009 at 4:57 pm #24045Participantand just BTW my three for this week are a lot different that the ones i used last time. last time mine weren’t really all that minimalist but more an isolated subject. two of tonight’s are pretty minimalist and the third is still better than those from last time. well IMHO.

ParticipantI know this is probably a lot, but the sun ones I won’t use. A couple look similar. Overall though, I think they’re cool. Talk about great timing to go out and get those!

clouddancer – i haven’t looked at all your pix yet, but I wanted to say that I took my camera with me to my herceptin infusion this morning and we too had a particularly blue sky here today and I got TWO shots (actually one doesn’t have sky… lmao) that I’m going to use, banishing previously considered shots to the b-sides folder. 😉 Anyway, just goes to show that taking your camera with you all the time is good policy. 😉

Okay, I looked at them all – pretty quickly, though, so keep that in mind; not an in depth “let them sink in” kinda way.
First, I prefer the ones that aren’t backlit.
Second, if you have a choice (have other pix to submit or can stand to submit less than three), I wouldn’t submit only these pictures even though you could pick three of these and have three fabulous pictures… the voters will probably just pick their favorite one.
Third – Way to go for going for every possible angle. 😀 😀 😀 Seriously, that is the way to learn what works and what doesn’t. Good on ya. 😀

ParticipantCD – I don’t have the time I’d like for this but…
I agree with Kat. While I like lens flare, it should brobably be avoided in this theme. Pick one of the simple, clean pics and crop it like you want. Perhaps play with light/dark or contrast to make it pop more.
btw – if you don’t have a 2nd or 3rd choice, you could submit one with a blue sky and also the earlier cloudy one. Just a thought.
I’m struggling with my choices this week.

I’m stuck between 2095 and 2114 (parallel and underneath respectively) which are my favorites of what I have above. I have a third one that I planned on using that is a little different than one might expect, but if it doesn’t get votes it doesn’t get votes. I like it anyway.

This is definitely one of those themes where I’m not sure about my own entries, but strongly looking forward to everyone else’s, if not just to see their take on the subject.

That’s pretty much where I’m sitting. Except it was more like take a bunch of photos that suck, then decide to go through the archives. My brain patterns definately swing more towards the technical side of the art. Fortunately, winter’s coming so I’ll have lots of time trapped indoors to engineer great photos. I just have to survive the fall, first.
