KeymasterFlying, gliding, falling, or throwing – show something airborne. Difficulty: No clouds or astronomical objects, no holding things up with string (holding them down is fine).
Thanks for the theme suggestion, Farktographer!
(edited to add cloud/astronomical object clarification)

ParticipantCould I get a potential OBO for this? I’ll have just started school and don’t know if I’ll be fully moved-in and set up for it yet. If I get internet by then though, I’ll PM whoever is OBO-ing for me.

ParticipantI should be able to do that for you, Farktographer.

Would these be considered being held up with strings?

technically, the ‘chute is being held down by the jumper 😉

ParticipantTechnically, also, the rescuees are holding down the chopper. But I think the chopper probably won. 😀

Thanks for the info. I can’t submit this picture anyway because I’m one of the guys holding down the huey, but I have others that I have taken. All I have to do is find the slides they are on.
It was a demo for some new officers on fast extractions. I wouldn’t really consider us recuees. We had completed our mission and were taking part in a fast extraction. hmmm now that I read that back, I guess you could say we were rescuees.

ParticipantI’d say they’re fine. The ‘holding down’ really means stuff like kites, and holding up means simulated flight, to me.

ParticipantThose would both be fine, they fit the spirit of the contest

ParticipantSo things like clouds are in right?
September 16, 2011 at 6:30 pm #28190olavf
ParticipantI’d presume not, but that’s a good question for Farktographer to clarify.

ParticipantWe’ll definitely want a clarification on clouds, because I would say yes.

ParticipantI would agree that clouds fit the current definition but would vote that it’s tweaked to exclude them so we don’t wind up with a repeat of Cloudscapes from May. Perhaps by saying that the “something” airborne should be artificial. I’m good either way, that’s just my two cents.

So that would mean birds are out?
