ParticipantThose are great, gambitgirl, now I want to start working on mine!
I haven’t ever made Triptychs before, so went to look for help on the Photoshop side of it. In case others need help, check here:

Guess I better check, is it ok to put a border around each piece?
Also, I’m thinking it’s maybe better to start with your canvas sized to 640 rather than putting it together then sizing, any thoughts on that?

KeymasterGotcha. What’s the say on a middle finger? Is that kosher or does it need to be linked?
We’ve had middle fingers submitted before; no problem.

I haven’t checked the link, but thanks in advance.
It is OK to have borders with this theme.

Oh, and IMO all these are fine to use, but it’d be U-man’s call.

I’ve never done them either. I used the links at the beginning of the thread for ideas and then just hacked away at them till they were decent. I didn’t even have an image editor till the last shot (flower) and had to get one (I used piknic for the first two).
I resized the images and then started with a canvas WAY larger than I needed and then pasted each image into a layer. Moved them around till I liked it and then cropped the whole thing.

Ok, I’ll try that too, thanks!

ParticipantI posted some ladybug pics on G+. ravnostic made a comment that he wants to see them as a triptych this week. I had not planned on doing that because this theme specifies ‘three parts of the subject”. If I used the ladybug pics I already have I would simply be arranging three different poses or settings of the same whole subject. IMO, it comes close to the spirit of the theme but doesn’t quite make it. A similar question arises with QueenBee’s banana shots over on Facebook. Looking past the ‘alive or not’ question, they are not really different parts of the whole.
So, am I getting too hung up on details? If I arranged three of these into some sort of triptych would it be OK in your opinions? I have plenty of live subjects around and all weekend to shoot them so don’t hold back if you think I should do something else. I am really using my own situation to try and define how closely this will be called.
As usual, I don’t want to have Elsinore be the bad cop, pull somebody’s pics and piss them off. I am OK going with a broad interpretation of the theme to inspire creativity. But the game should be played within some sort of boundaries.

ParticipantI’m leaving tuesday and hope I have internet wednesday O_O.
For you, and anyone else headed out for Turkey Day and questionable regarding internet access…
a kind Farktographer (but not Farktographer) with Drew’s new system gifted me a month of TF, so I’ll be able to OBO anybody who needs it. College is Wednesday nights this semester, and class usually ends in the 8:00 hour (actually it has to… class officially ends at 9) so I bring my laptop, and post as soon as I dismiss. It’s only a couple more minutes to do an OBO.
Kinda my way of paying the community back for one person’s kindness. PM me, or just paste it in the thread like somebody did last week. I’ll cover everybody who asks/needs.

http://photos.imageevent.com/ulle17/fark/LB_0372.jpgI was wondering all the same things. Even kashari’s link showed three photos of the same person in different shots. I think the interpretation is going to be really broad since some people don’t come up here and are going to google the definition and get a lot of varied answers.
Those ladybug shots are awesome.
I love QueenBee (she’s the one who got me here) but fruit isn’t alive.

Ok, thanks U-Man. I went back and read the Theme thread & the first part of this one. To clarify, this should be one LIVING subject, rather than inanimates or scenes?

http://photos.imageevent.com/ulle17/fark/LB_0372.jpgOMG, those are awesome! As I was envisioning the theme, they wouldn’t work. But, I’m certainly not stuck on that interpretation and we’ll probably get some of those type anyway.
