I love this question. I’ve been sharing my photos with my school, and I format them as desktop size. (Hence the watermark.) I’ve been getting great responses.
Right after Snowmageddon:
A rare evening ride past High Falls:
My current, shot from Pultneyville, NY (about 40 mins east of Rochester) this Sunday:
I’m using this one of the lamme swept with an f/1.4 (or was it the f/1.8; either way; it’s pleasant, non-distracting, and covered up parts don’t detract too much from the effect. View is across two monitors.
Mine is just one of the standard wallpapers so I won’t bother posting it. I used to make my own wallpapers using my photos, but in practice, I hardly ever see my desktop as I’ve always got a maximized window of some sort on both monitors. On my laptop (which only sees use when I travel), I’ve got my lunar eclipse entry from Hootenanny 2 as the desktop background.
Looks like I’m going to be working at 1024×768 for a while… the bulb in my laptop monitor just took a major poop tonight, and I had to pull out an old CRT monitor to attach to it.
I guess I know what I want for my birthday now… an LCD monitor… I’m hoping to keep this thing going for another year or two so I can get a nice nice tablet. Might not be possible, however…
