i’m using CS3, but i would assume 4 has the same option. what file type are you using? when you bring a RAW into p-shop using the RAW options, you can add a vignette easily. but if you have a jpeg, you can make it so p-shop uses RAW options with those, also.

go to photoshop preferences, file handling. under file compatibility, make sure the “Prefer Adobe Camera RAW for JPG files” is checked.

when you pull in your jpg, you will get the RAW options. vignette options are under the “lens corrections” tab under the histogram on the right.

hope this works in CS4 for you.

for the cost of visiting NYC, i could buy the lens most definitely 🙂 (i live in central MN).

i found a local shop that rents equipment. i’m going to check the lenses out and see what happens. i’m torn!

cost is the kicker. i will check to see if there is a local shop to try them both out, then decide if i can wait a while longer to save for the f/1.4.

well, i was worried about losing the 18-27mm if i bought the tamrom 28-75mm, so i went through a bunch of my photos i’ve taken to check out the focal length. turns out that a lot of my shots are in the 22-55mm range, and the ones that are closer to 18mm, i was in a situation where i could definitely take a step back if i needed to.

so, i think i’m going to go with the tamron. i’m really looking forward to the f2.8. 🙂

anybody bought from this place or heard things about it?

i bought a no name remote cable, 12-foot (next one probably would be a little longer) and it works fine. nice focusing on all the shots i took with auto focus. i think with shipping it cost me $20 or so off ebay.

the extended warranty was through the company selling it to me, and as i am not a fan of them, i didn’t get it. i think it was around $250 for 2 years, and i didn’t know off the top of my head how much a cleaning would actually cost. good to know that a basic cleaning is something a person can do herself.
