ParticipantJust to be clear, these are people pathways. Right? Or would animal tracks in snow work?

ParticipantQueen – dunno about that one; technically I guess it could be used, but the idea of removing the vehicle from its location would make it seem more like there should be no lifts on the wire, rather than no people on the lifts (it’d be like if there was an empty train on a track; wouldn’t fit the theme)
Rav – I still think shadow shots would be okay so long as it’s not overbearing. I love that shot, and think it could be an awesome entry.
U-man – The wording specified people, but it’s because I didn’t even think of shots like this. I like the idea of animal paths being included, but I’ll leave this open to people below…should we allow this and change the wording of the theme (or is it too late being only 24 hours away?), or do we even need to change the wording of the theme to allow it? Personally, I think it’s valid for entry but fear a last-minute change like that might upset people…

ParticipantI’m okay with allowing animal paths, even though the original idea was ‘people paths’. I don’t think it’ll change the contest too much personally.

ParticipantWhile I am a fan of creatively stretching the parameters of any theme, I lean towards that falling more into the “Trails : I know where you’ve been” category.
What you have there are animal tracks as opposed to a pathway ( it might be under the snow 😀 ). I would doubt that people use it, as per the description…the last thing I want to see is another in-thread debate as to whether or not….

At least I let Kestrana point out that my idea of high tension power lines going into the sunset being “pathways for electricity” wouldn’t fit.

that makes total sense. I wasn’t even thinking that I would have to have had it without the seats (even tho they were empty). Sometimes I’m just not thinking straight. That’s what I get for trying to think outside the box I guess 😛

ParticipantI’ve got a set of outdoor stairs, that I’m just waiting to post. That’s kosher, right? Pedistrian foot bridge and zebra stripe also. I’ll skip the helicopter landing pad.

Since we are so close to game-time, I think we should keep the wording as-is. If it was clearly a game trail (like a deer path up a hill) that people could walk on then it would be OK. My shot is really just a set of mouse/varmint tracks, rather than a trail.

Rav, yours is cutting it close but I think that’s about as big as you can get without it becoming mainly about shadow.
Yoyo – stairs are great and fit the theme.

I’ll use the shot in some future contest perhaps.
