It’s that time of year again!October 28, 2006 at 3:58 pm #6362
Can someone help me with a bit more detail about this theme? Does it have to be specifically Halloween related (costumes, pumpkin, candy etc) or can it be horror related like blood and guts type stuff.October 28, 2006 at 4:07 pm #6363
i’d be interested in this too – i’ve got a lot of creepy pics that arent directly related to halloween, but are spooky nonetheless.
so i say i can be either, but obviously i’m biased. 😛October 28, 2006 at 4:26 pm #6364ElsinoreKeymaster
Well, we’d probably have to be careful of the blood and guts stuff since the FArQ says thumbs down to “disturbing” imagery, though of course that’s open to interpretation. I’ve got some regular Halloween stuff planned, but also something more generally spooky.October 28, 2006 at 4:54 pm #6365
Yep, I see it… “depicts” was the key word so I guess I need a new idea.
Form the FArQ:
Graphic content: Images that would make many people feel ill such as cadavers, autopsies, surgeries, vomiting, severed limbs, alarming deformities, roadkill, dead animals and bodily functions such as urine and feces. Images in full, or in part of, or resembling Goatse man, Tubgirl, or anything equally as disgusting will be deleted and HTML will be suspended on your accounts. Images containing child pornography will be reported to your ISP and local/federal law enforcement agencies. The use of images depicting well-known tragedies such as 9/11 is not forbidden, but usually frowned upon. Images which depict people actually dying (falling to their death, engulfed in flame, being blown up) should not be used, and the same holds true for such images involving animals.October 28, 2006 at 5:40 pm #6366
hmmm. here is a link to the stuff i was hoping to use for an entry or two – what do you guys think? i suppose i could always link it if y’all think it’s too much.October 28, 2006 at 5:48 pm #6367KlahanieParticipant

I think they’re great and doubt they would break any rules.
I would also like to think some gore would be okay for Halloween. Imitation gore as opposed to the real thing, but what do I know…October 28, 2006 at 6:20 pm #6368ElsinoreKeymaster
Wow, monkeybort, those are awesome! I can’t see anyone raising a fuss over those. GalleyWench has a good point that there’s got to be some leeway for Halloween. The hard part is the gray areas…October 28, 2006 at 6:25 pm #6369
thanks elsinore! they’re from my honeymoon in prague – we took a train out to kutna hora to see the bone church. it’s the remains of tens of thousands of plague victims that they didn’t have room for in the cemetary. really overwhelming to see it in person.October 28, 2006 at 6:37 pm #6370millera9Participant
The bones should definitely be okay because they’re a historical landmark. I would imagine you can take children into that place so I’d say go for it monkeybort. On the other hand, gore (probably even fake gore) might freak some people out so I’d be careful with that.October 28, 2006 at 7:42 pm #6371
Whoa! Hard to compete with that monkeybort! Thanks for the pics. Very nice!October 29, 2006 at 2:00 am #6372

OK, I’m calling “SHOPPED” on Bizarre_Records entry. http://static.flickr.com/114/282532212_4e9e149519.jpg
I could be mistaken but I can’t believe that’s camera only. It looks just like “Lighting Effects”
//Wow.. I dunno… impressiveNovember 2, 2006 at 1:41 am #6375
i think it’s probably second curtain flash – you get all the weird colors of the ambient lighting but still (sometimes) get your subject sharp and crisp with the flash.
