11-23-11 – Triptych Portraits

Ditto the borders, I think they give a nice effect to the Tryps. Plus they make alignment a snap. I am not married to them, however if the group goes small/no borders I can make changes.
I think some sort of border is probably a must – at least the width of the gaps between the individual frames. The tryptich would generally look unbalanced otherwise.
As indicated above, two of mine have “creative” borders, so I’m hoping they’re allowed. The idea was to enhance the photos not to distract from them. I posted a link to an example a couple pages back.
I’d say that we have some sort of consensus that borders are OK for this theme.
I don’t think I have the authority for an end-all answer. But, given the somewhat processed nature of this type of photographic presentation, I would be inclined to allow all sorts of borders. I made my first one last night and didn’t even think twice about placing three pics on a blank background and then painting the background black – resulting in a wide border.
So, my input is that borders of all sorts are allowed for this theme. The photos should still be the important part though.
Elsinore? Kes? NBD? Anyone else?
I would hope we are using borders. Otherwise I have to re-edit all mine!
played the pirate last night with the eye patch and did put one together…probably won’t play this week cause I really shouldn’t be on th ecomputer at all, but I’m going throught camera and picture withdrawl

My question wasn’t regarding basic borders, but those downloadable frames linked earlier that have effects baked in.
Even those are OK – as far as I’m concerned.
Any objections?
I object that he broke into my house while I was watching “Ow! My Balls!”
Are all photos in the trip supposed to be taken on the same day, or can one put together pictures that were taken at different times, but still the exact same subject?

None from this peanut gallery. As it’s turning out, though, I think I’m going borderless. With a white background, one particular triptych’s images seem to ‘float’, independent of each other, but obviously part of a whole.
I think I like that.

The intent was to shoot with trip’s in mind. But photos from different days are OK.

Well… I was out of Brawndo.
I’m down with borders. This theme allows extra use of photoshop for assembly, so to me borders are part of assembly.
