KeymasterWoohoo! It looks like I might finally win something! No one can call me a total loser anymore! I’ve moved up to “mostly”, and maybe even just “partly”!
Uhhh I was gonna say pretty much what schnee said. Your photographs are amazing!
Speaking of average votes and standings, take a look at U-Man’s debut into the world of having enough entries to qualify for averages. #1 in standing and #2 in votes. Yowzers.
I did actually notice that, and I meant to post something about it. That is sweet–Go U-Man!

ParticipantHey, monkeybort – I just saw your message about your husband having lived in Ely. That’s a funky coincidence, considering that the population is only around 3,000. Did he live there for a long time? How did he like it? My father lives there now year-round and it’s always a great place to visit. (Our back yard borders the Superior National Forest, and my entry from this week was taken a couple hundred yards from the house in September.)

Participanti think he lived there for about 5 years or so – he started working summers at a lodge after high school and then moved up there year-round and ran dogsled trips in the winter. summers they outfitted for boundary waters/quetico trips. he really liked it for a while, and then the smallness of it got to him i think. he moved 5 or 6 years ago out west to bozeman.

Participantbozeman
Stop that. Stop talking about Montana. First the Tester election and now this. All you’re doing is reminding me that I’m not in Montana. Its a conspiracy.
{fingers in ears} lalalalalalalalala
I totally forgot that I once went to the place in Texas for Fall color. Lost Maples. Wonder if I should have entered one of those.

Diggin – I’ve been watching your portfolio. You’ve made a nice entrance to Farktography. Thanks for sharing and please continue.

Participant{doesn’t matter}
By the way, the Austin American Statesman this morning actually printed “Bort, Bort, Bort” in some article about Swedes, specifically the Swedish Chef from the Muppets. They even gave a translation.
My mind boggled. Not at the translation, but at “Bort, Bort, Bort”.

ParticipantCool, monkeybort – it sounds like he really milked the area of all the adventure and outdoor fun he could before leaving. I’d love to do a dogsled trip one of these days.
Nice pics, schnee. I especially like the second pic from the bottom (eyecimg00022.jpg) Those dark, snarly branches are nifty.
Elsinore: Thanks! Yours as well, for sure. My fav of yours lately is that Halloween entry of the girl in yellow on the steps — I immediately thought of The Shining and then got the shivers. Very nice!
