I don’t think the year is important as long as they were taken in the summer/capture summer.
Hmm, that makes things more difficult.
Thanks anyway!September 15, 2011 at 3:11 am #32779LeicaLensParticipantBlimey. You’ve put me off drinking Coke for life now.
Here’s hoping the rest of the recovery goes well.September 15, 2011 at 3:07 am #28295LeicaLensParticipantNot that I really have time to archive dive now, but the shots should be from summer this year, right?
September 13, 2011 at 5:16 am #29144LeicaLensParticipantI recently bought a Panasonic G3, to use as a lightweight travel camera* and also video shooting. In its price range it is supposed to be zbout the best camera for video, though strictly speaking it is not a DSLR as it is a mirrorless.
I took a few videos while I was on holiday recently, and they came out very well, though focussing was a problem when the subjects moved a lot (young nieces). However, I bought it for shooting videos where the subject won’t be moving around much (classroom environment), so this didn’t bother me too much; also, the lens I got for it wasn’t the best choice for dedicated video shooting.
As for stills, it did everything I wanted it to do, and more. I was so pleased with the image quality that I will be investing more in lenses for this camera.*I was planning to go around Barcelona, and I did not want to take a big heavy camera with big heavy lenses to lug around for all the thieving gits in that city.

The one on the bottom left looks like it could be used for a *Derp* captioned photo.
Your bats are bigger than the ones we get here.Though not as big as the ones in Gotham.
May 16, 2011 at 6:50 am #37996LeicaLensParticipantJapan is really lacking in graffiti.
Normally, that would be a good thing, but not this time. However, weird, huge-eyed, school-girl-uniform-clad figures they do have.
May 16, 2011 at 6:39 am #32957LeicaLensParticipantThat’s pretty groovy.
Nice way to use an old Leica lens.May 12, 2011 at 3:02 pm #33074LeicaLensParticipantLet’s put it this way. From what I’ve seen, this lens is so good, I’m considering getting it and adapting it to Nikon.
Yeah, I would love that, but it’s pretty much out of my price range right now. Or, to put it another way, I could buy it, but I would have to keep its existence secret from the wife for all eternity.

The Tamron one is actually the one I am most leaning towards. A friend has one, using it on a 5D MkII, and he is well pleased with it. Everything I have heard about it is positive.
The lens I am curious to hear more about is the Sigma: I *think* it is lighter and more compact than the Tamron and Canon, and it will give me a somewhat different focal length than my 85mm.May 12, 2011 at 8:27 am #12888LeicaLensParticipantActually, I think all the external friend-site links went bye-bye.
I think you’re right about that; Farktography was the only one I really used, which is why I noticed its absence.
May 12, 2011 at 4:47 am #12890LeicaLensParticipantWell this was probably not the best contest to choose to return to Farktography for. Lot’s of high quality entries, and hours of archive diving to choose three shots!
By the way, I haven’t been around much lately, but I noticed a few changes: I know amount the new ban-hammer wielding Moderators, but what happened to the Farktography link on the Fark site? I thought Farktography had a link in the community box on the right-hand side of the page, but I can’t find it. Have we announced our independence? “No photographs without representation” or something?Anyway, a couple of Bees:

Nice bit of quick thinking at the end by the salesman guy, though.May 5, 2011 at 8:57 am #33346LeicaLensParticipantBlimey, I like that!
Is that a glass bottle it is on?April 28, 2011 at 6:06 am #39405LeicaLensParticipantLeicaLens, it’s good to see you posting again. Funnily enough, I was just thinking today that I hadn’t seen you post in a while, wondering if all was OK there…
Thanks.
I have been busy of late both with work and play, and not really got my act together to post anything in the competitions. I forget to get people’s permission to post their portraits this week as well, which is why you’ll only see the one for me this week.By the way, the flying-while-posing-nephew shot is yours, isn’t it? Awesome picture.
Incidentally, if Corsec was still living in Okazaki, he should be okay. It’s further south than Tokyo. I’m not actually sure that he is still in Japan, though.
/and with that, I’m off to Shikoku for a few days
March 28, 2011 at 12:17 am #38902LeicaLensParticipantCongratulations to Mopsy.
I must have been the second last to vote, because when I put mine in, the Triumvirate were tied on 36. I was quite relieved, because I thought I had left it too late to vote this week. -
