Participantwhy not just leave it as is? I think it looks kind of nifty. or make it a square shot around the halo. If you crop it so that only the image is viewable, it’ll likely lose some of the effect.
what lens is it, by the way?

ParticipantI assume you’re talking about making an east-bound train head west, correct? unless there was some sort of factual thing wrong with it, I think it would be cool. If you want rearrange mt. rushmore, take a shot in a mirror.

ParticipantI don’t see a problem with it, but I’ll see what others say.

ParticipantI like to do a lot of wide-angle night sky shots, but I’m also interested in what I could do with my 400mm lens. or what I would need to buy to mount my 20d to a telescope.
my problem is that while there is virtually no ambient light for thousands of miles around me in many directions, the sky is clear less than 1/3 the year, and for a good four months or more, it’s too bright at night to see anything. So I’m not all that keen on dropping a lot of cash for limited return.

ParticipantI’ve sold a few of them. They look really great printed out 16×20. There is an incredible amount of detail in the boat if you get up close.
It is a major pain, though, trying to get any two of them to print out to exactly the same tone when somebody wants more than one. They were taken as day was breaking, and are not exactly long exposures, but I was in a contemplative mood, letting the fog change things around and letting the tide spin the boat, so they’re all a little different in terms of light. I hate color management/need to get a far more sophisticated setup than I have.

Participantalso? I’m extremely high, so you can most likely just skip over this portion of the program.

ParticipantSleeping, I really love Another Sunset at the Reservoir. I also like Mist and Snow that you posted in the contest thread.
I would have posted a comment on your flickr, but I apparently have reached the stage of man* where one starts to have irrational anger directed at (perfectly good) random targets and therefore refuses to process anything involved with the unfortunate entity. . For my dad, it was Firestone Tires, Dairy Queen, Budweiser and the folks at Western Auto. For me, Yahoo, Safeway, Wendy’s, & CBS. As soon as I encounter that Yahoo login, I’m done.
*this may or may not occur in all families. but when it does, it’s a doozy.

Participantyou should use that second one if we ever have a theme of photos to make soosh get dizzy and fall over

Participantyeah, if they were minimal enough, I would have used them. show us what you’ve got, olavf, or did you already and I didn’t see it?
