ParticipantActually, onl…
**sigh**
…goes to ‘SIF’ folder…deletes everything; frantically panics on how….

Participantbut I know you’ll manage. A little bird told me.
They weren’t that good. Deep IR spectrum with a few spots and no prominences. No one on fark wants to see a black and white photo of the sun.
From what I understand, to get a distinguishable prominence you have to be shooting almost exclusively H-alpha or shortwave UV.

ParticipantI was planning on archive-diving since I haven’t even seen the sun in a couple weeks (Manchester weather is just the worst/lab time is all indoors), but seeing these early contenders and B’s just makes me feel inadequate. Oh, woe is me.

No matter how much I run and I run to catch up with the sun, it’s always sinking… =)I was determined to get a sunset and kept missing it. So Saturday, while gardening, I kept an eye on the sun. When it was getting close to the horizon I took a chair and camera and sat down by the river bank. Every few seconds I took another set of photos. The funny thing is when you are sitting waiting for it to move, it seems to take more time. Kinda like watching for a pot to boil thing.

Exactly, how many times you have been just waiting for the sun to set and it takes forever.
Missed the sunset yesterday, and the sunrise today, some things came up that will probably leave me with just the old shots I have since I’m kinda stuck in my house today.

ParticipantCan I get a ruling on this one?
http://www.flickr.com/photos/ilpadrino03/6545837051/I may or may not decide to use it; it’s not one of the stronger entries I’m looking at in my archive, but I’m curious if it’ll work. The sun isn’t clear, but you can visibly see that the sun is in the sky overexposing the background.

It works. The sun is certainly in the frame. It would be nice if it was more…sunny…but it fits the theme.

ParticipantFor better or worse, I’ve made my choices. Some bees, plus some other shots I considered but won’t be going with:

ParticipantDude, that shot’s gorgeous. And it’s a B? Yikes.

I like the second one best for its prominent rays & shafts of light.
