06-06-12 – Vehicles

I’ve been out driving around in any of the little free time I have after work trying to get something for this contest, but the only one I had I mistakenly deleted from my memory card when I thought I had already copied it. So I waited until it went live to dig for a final entry and two minutes after pressing submit I remembered one that I should have used instead: car.

Mopsy your unknown entry looks like a steam-powered tractor.

Yep. Steam tractor. The boiler tube is the big round tubular thing on the right, and you can see the fire box to the left of the seat.

Finally got my lot posted this morning. Drove home from work through a horrendous storm that took what little mental capacity I had left from the day. Completely forgot till my alarm went off this morning that I hadn’t even sat down in front of a computer all last evening from all the lightning strikes in the area. But oh well, this week’s picks weren’t my best anyways, just hope to get some decent votes out of them.

That’s one hell of a Porsche, ‘cuda.

Glad ennuipoet’s Eagle shot got vote-n-ated, was just coming over here to mention it wasn’t. Good family friend’s oldest boy went through the Coast Guard Academy and speaks highly of the ship. He’s now running his own Cutter I believe, chasing down drug smugglers.

emiliogtz, thanks, that’s an older shot from a car show in California I believe, I’ve got a couple other pictures of the car I’m saving for the old car theme (that and the other shots I’m fairly sure are currently non-farktography altered and didn’t have time this morning to rework them)

I had 6 ready to go. Asked my wife to help me pick the three… based on voting… can’t say whether she did good or not, as I don’t have a great record of picking Fark voter-friendly shots. Kinda glad I didn’t go with the Blue Angels, especially after someone else’s 3 entries were ALL Blue Angels. Thought real hard about the scooters, though…
Tryin’ to decide if I should ask for her help with my numerous birds… I got a bunch ready.
