KeymasterTechnically you can vote in a thread that’s queued but not greenlit. The voting option will go away once the thread is greened, then it will come back when the thread goes live.

Participantbob_ross seems to have misread the theme description…

KeymasterThoughts on Yugoboy’s lobster traps? They’re made of wood….Similarly torn about QueenBee’s screw in the wooden plank.

From the 3rd post in this thread (in reply to a question about shedded larval husks):
“In the theme forum thread, we talked about this, and the general concensus was along the lines of ‘things that obviously haven’t been alive anytime recently’. So, for example, a macro-style closeup of aged furniture wood or bone fossil would pass muster, but a macro dead leaf or leather (which would likely decompose in a shorter time) wouldn’t. Based on that, I don’t know that the larval shell would really fit, as it probably wouldn’t last a long time in the world before it was lost. “
Bold added by me. This post was in my mind when I selected my shot.

Yeah, but they’re plants, and we mentioned “nothing that’s been living in recorded history”. That bit didn’t get added to the description, though…

ok…there’s obviously conflicting things mentioned in the thread, but again, that stuff didn’t get added to the theme description, so I guess it’s up to the voters…

KeymasterIn other news, we’re currently at 11 link votes, and I haven’t seen it drop yet…

ParticipantHmm… My shell is probably out based on the “in recorded history” bit. You can go ahead and nuke it and I’ll enter another.

ParticipantMeah. It’s always up to the voters. Back in the theme thread it was discussed, and earlier here, too. I’m not personally against the old wood stuff, though it’s not what I had in mind. In the interest of not making things too darned complicated and moderating it to death, I’m letting go of it (i.e., I’m not going to raise a fuss–‘sup to you, Else if you want to bother with them). That Bob guy, though–yep, way out of bounds.

KeymasterNo, shells are not and have never been living. They’re totally fair game.

ParticipantOkay. I’ll leave it then. I had a hard enough time deciding on three.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/38736385@N02/6077899209/in/photostream/lightbox/I wanted to enter plastic butterfly on plastic flower but I didn’t want to be too much of a smart ass. I’m glad oddmind had the same thought and well executed.

ParticipantElsinore, thanks a bunch for taking care of my earlier, erroneous entries. I had set them up as Word documents and (due to farking parenthood and the farking back to farking school night after a farking longer than normal work day) I inadvertently selected text from the next pic.
But all is well now. 🙂 Thanks again.
Pretty good stuff so far.

KeymasterNo worries..I realized they were tagged wrong, and when I saw you repost, I figured you meant for the mis-tagged ones to go away.
