orionidParticipantSoosh,
Any judgement call on my stereo-for-the-optically-challenged shots? Or would that open too much of a can of worms for other animations?Original: http://www.buckscorner.com/farktography/late/late4.jpg

ParticipantSo would blurring out the background be allowed or is that like removing an object?

Soft-wared: http://www.buckscorner.com/farktography/late/rocks.gifActually, nevermind. I don’t think I’m going to be able to play this week. I’d love to, and have a few ideas, but my life is imploding around me and I just don’t have the time to do anything.

I think that would be ok.

Cool, thanks Elsinore!

ParticipantI think the text is taking it too far. You allow that, and it’s basically an Illustrator contest and we’ve got swallows and pigeons and geegaws and gimcracks, and I’m not up for all that crap.
But without the caption in the photo would be fine right?
And I figured I need to share the opponent since I already used the original image for this before so I couldn’t use it in the contest.

KeymasterI would think it would be ok without the caption.

Participant‘guine, you could always put that caption under the pic.

I hate it when life gets in the way. Remember J. Lennon – “Life is just what happens to you while you are busy making other plans.”
But I really came here to say that I like the 3D gif. If possible (within the rules, your schedule) I’d like to see that tomorrow.

I was planning on doing that, but I figured if I was allowed to include the caption it would be better that way.

Participantthe 3-D animation would work and is a perfect example of the sort of thing I was hoping would show up. You’re combining two shots in software, and using software to move between them. You haven’t added any elements that weren’t present on the film, you’ve just tweaked what was there.
Selective blurring is definitely OK.
Yeah, linguine, without the text, it’s totally within the limits.

ParticipantOne more question; are solid borders allowed (in general also)? I can’t remember if I’ve seen them used or not and I have one for this week that is screaming for a black border.

Participantsoosh, I want to thank you for suggesting this theme. I’ve had fun trying all the different filters in Photoshop and trying my hand at HDR again. Now, I may be way off what others are doing but this has expanded my knowledge of the computer tools available to us. THANKS!

Small solid borders are allowed in any contest.
