I was thinking more along the lines of printing out one of warhol’s soup cans, pasting that onto an actual can, and then photographing that being obviously three-dimensional.

Actually. I like that idea too. And it doesn’t feel slimy. I mean, it is not like you’d be trying to ‘get away with something’.

Go for it, is my thinking. I’m going to have an entry tonight, maybe, that features it, but I hardly have a copyright on the image.

I’ve got acetone, but I’m going to mix in some motor oil to create more smoke. Acetone is what I used in the Reptile contest, so you may have had problems with too much ambient light, as you probably weren’t doing your peeps at the back of your garage on top of the washing machine where I did my godzilla thing.

also, that bowl was mostly full of acetone.

I was gonna do this one with a circus peanut, but I really didn’t have a good toy gun and I just couldn’t pull off what I thought looked enough like an image that I started thinking might not be all that iconic anymore.

and then I thought of doing Tienanmen Square in entirely lunchmeat or perhaps steaks, but was short on cash this week, so that will have to wait until another week.

Really excited about tonight. I’m sure that this will be the most fun contest that I’ve been in so far. Although it appears that I may not have been as creative as some, recreating pictures of dogs and people with, well, dogs and people. I’m also quite certain that I have a much more lax definition of the word ‘iconic’ than most.

Yeah ambient light definitely won out over my lovely acetone flames, unfortunately. I had gasoline, but didn’t think to use it.

I don’t know how much you paid for acetone, but you can buy it by the gallon at home depot for like $4. I keep it around to keep certain, umm, smoking devices nice and clean. And also for setting things on fire.
